I’m about to go to sleep, I go online to check my bank account just to make sure I’m good to eat tomorrow, and on my news feed pops up this headline: Girl Dies After Parents Pray for Healing Instead of Seeking Medical Help. That’s a must click.

Low and behold, the story was exactly as the title made it out to be. You may be familiar with Christian Scientists who believe that prayer takes priority over medicine and surgery, and the last two should only be used as last resort. As this couple is private in their beliefs, one could say they are a radical form of this viewpoint. I’m not being dogmatic (that was for you, Voss) but this astounded me. At the end of the article, when the police found no form of abuse so did not remove the other children, I almost wanted to yell “ok, ask the dead one who just went over a month of torture if she feels slightly abused or neglected.” We have medicine and surgery for a reason, and this couple prayed themselves back into the times of Jesus in terms of medical technology. That’s ironic. I pray these people get a clue.
